Job Description:
RVCC is currently accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Visual Arts Foundation. Initial salary and rank will be based on the successful candidate's educational qualifications and professional experience. The College also offers an attractive employee benefits package.  
 
You will be responsible for teaching courses in the Foundation area of the Associate of Fine Arts Degree, including Two-Dimensional Design, Basic Drawing I, and Color Theory. Courses are taught using traditional and digital media.  
 
Will assist the chairperson in the management of adjuncts, studio spaces, budget preparation and course scheduling. Participate with the Visual Arts faculty in organizing and developing exhibits at the College Art Gallery.  
 
Demonstrate enthusiasm and success in teaching. Plan and implement program development.  
Participate on committees and engage in college/community service. Demonstrate continuous professional development within the discipline and in instructional methodologies.  
 
Regularly evaluate courses and student learning materials to ensure that learning outcomes and assessments are appropriate/effective. Assist with departmental strategic planning, program reviews, course assessment and outcomes assessment. Demonstrate commitment to the principles of a learning-centered institution.  
 
Instruct courses at a variety of times and locations in response to institutional needs. Develop and use a syllabus for each course within College and departmental guidelines. Regularly evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives, and inform them in a timely manner of their progress.  
 
Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and community members.  
Work collaboratively in a diverse learning institution; demonstrate commitment to teaching and working with a multi-cultural and multi-generational student body.  
 
Adhere to College policies and procedures.

Requirements:
M.F.A in Visual Arts in painting, drawing or printmaking is required.  
 
Successful candidate should have at least three years of college teaching required, in Two-Dimensional Design, Basic Drawing I, and Color Theory and a concentration in one of the following: painting, drawing or printmaking.  
 
Must have an active exhibition record. Must demonstrate computer proficiency. A professional background in visual arts is preferred.  
 
Desire to work in an interdisciplinary environment.
