Job Description:
We invite applicants for the position of Senior Vice President /Academic Affairs. Reporting to the President, the successful candidate will serve as the Chief Academic Officer and in the absence of the President assumes leadership for the College.
The successful candidate will be expected to achieve results aligned with the strategic vision of the College. Initiative, innovation, and the ability to stay focused on results despite rapidly changing conditions will be essential. The Senior Vice President will be responsible for implementing practical, timely solutions while providing leadership for, and maintaining the highest quality academic standards.

The Vice President/Academic Affairs will also be responsible for engagement with the business community, assessing both current and future career possibilities and articulating these needs to faculty for program creation and development. The successful candidate shall provide vision and leadership to the faculty to create a state-of-the-art learning environment characterized by demonstrable learning outcomes through ongoing assessment.
The successful candidate shall present a record of progressive responsibility, leadership, problem-solving, and achievement. A demonstrated commitment to the multiple and complex goals of a successful community college like Raritan Valley is essential.
Requirements:
An earned doctorate from an accredited institution is required.
Significant teaching experience, preferably at a community college. Significant academic administrative experience, preferably at a community college. Experience in curriculum development, outcomes assessment, and faculty development. A distinguished record of academic accomplishments and leadership is required.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills; a thorough understanding of classroom practices, including teaching methodologies, assessment systems and educational technology; competence in financial matters; and a commitment to quality student-oriented and student-centered service.
